Ticket Selling Settings

Learn how to configure payment methods, attendee information collection, ticket restrictions, gratuity, and Kiosk Mode for selling tickets through the Eventeny admin mobile app.

Access Ticket Selling Settings

1. Open the mobile app and log in. From the Events screen, select the event you want to manage.

3. Tap More in the bottom navigation menu.

4. Scroll to the Sell section. From here, you'll see several settings that control how tickets can be sold and issued through the app:

  • Payment methods

  • Ask for attendee information

  • Ticket restrictions

  • Restrict sold-out products

  • Gratuity

  • Kiosk Mode

Payment Methods

At the top of the screen, you'll see Security PIN, a universal PIN used to protect payment settings. This PIN must be entered before modifying protected settings, helping prevent unauthorized changes during an event.

  • If a PIN has already been set, you'll see PIN required displayed next to a Create PIN link (used to update or manage the existing PIN).

  • If no PIN has been created yet, tap Create PIN to set one up.

Below the Security PIN section, under Select payment methods, you can choose which payment methods to allow during checkout:

  • Tap, insert or swipe to pay: Accept payments through terminals.

  • Manual credit card entry: Allows staff to manually type in a credit card number during checkout.

  • Cash: Record cash payments.

  • Complimentary: Allows staff to issue tickets at no cost, without requiring payment.

Simply check or uncheck each option depending on which payment methods you'd like to make available to your staff during ticket sales.

⚠️ Heads Up: The Manual Credit Card Entry setting is applied at the event level. Once enabled, it will be active across all devices associated with the event. It is recommended to verify each device before the event begins to ensure the settings are correctly applied.

Best Practices for Manual Credit Card Entry

  • Verify settings on all devices before the event starts to ensure functionality.

  • Train staff to use the Manual Credit Card Entry feature effectively.

  • Follow best practices for securing customer payment information to maintain compliance.

Ask for Attendee Information

The Ask Attendee for Information section allows organizers to control what information is collected from attendees during the ticket checkout process.

Information to Collect

Under Information to collect, you can select which details are gathered from attendees during checkout:

  • Name: Collect the attendee's name.

  • Email: Collect the attendee's email address.

  • Phone number: Collect the attendee's phone number.

  • Collect custom responses: Collect answers to any custom questions that were created for the ticket.

Simply toggle each option on or off depending on the information you need to gather from attendees. In the example shown, Name, Email, and Collect custom responses are enabled, while Phone number is disabled.

Attendee Information Level

Under Attendee Information level, you can choose how frequently attendee information is collected during checkout:

  • Order level: Attendee information is asked once per order, regardless of how many tickets are included.

  • Ticket level: Attendee information is asked for each individual ticket, requiring details for every attendee included in the order.

Select whichever option best fits how you'd like to track attendee details, whether that's a single contact per order or individual information for every ticket holder.

Ticket Restrictions

The Ticket Restrictions section allows organizers to control which ticket types can be issued or sold from the mobile device.

Under Issue tickets, you can select which ticket types are available when selling tickets in the app. The ticket types displayed in this list are based on the tickets that were created in the web version of the platform, and the titles of those tickets will appear here.

⚠️ Heads Up: If Allow All Tickets is enabled, all ticket types created for the event will automatically be available for sale on the device. If it is disabled, you can manually select which ticket types staff are allowed to issue.

Gratuity Options

The Gratuity Options section allows organizers to enable tipping during checkout when tickets are sold through the mobile app. When Collect gratuity is enabled, customers are given the option to add a tip when completing their payment.

Set Gratuity Options

  • Allow custom tip amount: When enabled, this lets customers enter their own tip amount instead of choosing from preset options.

You can then choose between one of two gratuity setups:

  • Default gratuity: Displays preset tipping options of 15%, 18%, 20%, 25%, Custom amount, and No tip.

  • Customize gratuity: Allows organizers to create their own custom tipping options. You can set up to four gratuity options using either:

    • Percentage: Tip based on a percentage of the purchase.

    • Dollar amount: Tip based on a fixed dollar value.

Once configured, these options will appear for customers when completing their payment.

Kiosk Mode

Kiosk Mode allows you to set up a device for self-service ticket purchases, enabling attendees to buy tickets directly from a tablet or device without staff assistance.
