Creating Ticket Discount Codes

Learn how to create, manage, track, and export discount codes to offer promotions and incentives for your event attendees or applicants.

⚠️ Heads Up: This article assumes that you have already created a ticket on Eventeny. If you have not yet created a ticket, please review this guide first.

Create A Discount Code

1. Click on the Discount Codes option in the Tickets drop-down menu.

2. Select the Create Discount Code button.

3. Choose whether you want to create a single code or multiple codes, and then fill out the generate code form with the following information:

  • Title: This is the internal title of the discount code.

  • Discount Code: This is the code that ticket purchasers will enter to receive the discount. If you do not wish to create a code, you can click the "generate code" option, and a code will be created for you.

  • Discount Type: Select the type of discount you would like to offer.

    • Percentage off - This will take a percentage off of each ticket in the order

    • Flat off - This will take a flat amount off of each ticket in the order.

    • Buy one, get one - This will make one ticket free for every one ticket purchased; minimum 2 tickets purchased in one transaction to apply.

    • Buy three, get one - This will make one ticket free for every three tickets purchased; minimum 4 tickets purchased in one transaction to apply.

    • Buy ten, get one - This will make one ticket free for every ten tickets purchased; minimum 11 tickets purchased in one transaction to apply.

  • Discount Value: What percentage or amount should be discounted from the ticket?

  • Quantity Available: How many discount codes are available to be used? You can leave this blank for unlimited use.

  • Max Allowed Per Order: This setting controls how many times a discount can be applied per account for a given event, not just per transaction. For example, if the limit is set to 2, the same account cannot bypass this by placing multiple separate orders—the limit applies across all orders tied to that account for the event.

  • Group Discount: Toggle this on if you would like a minimum number of tickets to be purchased before this discount can be applied. For example, a minimum of 15 tickets needs to be purchased before a 20% discount can be applied.

  • Time Restriction: Input a start and end time if you would like this discount code to expire at a specific time. This is great for limited-time promotions.

  • Assign Tickets: Assign the code to the specific tickets you'd like it to apply to.

4. Click the Save Discount Code button to finalize your code.

5. Once the code is saved, it will be available in your discount code dashboard with the ability to "edit" or "delete" the code.

Manage Discount Codes

The Manage Discounts dashboard provides an overview of all discount codes associated with your event. For each discount code, you can review:

  • Discount Name: The name assigned to the discount.

  • Assigned To: The tickets or applications the discount applies to.

  • Status: Whether the discount is currently active or inactive.

  • Code: The code attendees or applicants enter to receive the discount.

  • Type: Whether the discount is a percentage or fixed amount.

  • Discount Amount: The value of the discount.

  • Quantity: The maximum number of times the code can be used.

  • Redeemed: The number of times the code has been used and the total discounted amount.

  • Start Time and End Time: The dates and times when the discount is available.

You can also use the Edit and Delete actions to manage existing discount codes, create new codes, search for specific codes, or export your discount code data for reporting purposes.

Export Discount Codes

1. Click the Export button in the top-right corner of the Discount Codes page.

2. In the Export Discount Codes window, select the columns you would like to include in the export and choose how you would like the data to be grouped. Click Download CSV to generate and download the report.
