Check In Tickets While Offline

Learn how to set up and use offline ticket check-in in the Eventeny Admin Mobile App, allowing Event Organizers to check in attendees without an internet connection using a local WiFi host-and-client device setup.

ℹ️ Info: Offline check-in lets you keep scanning and checking in tickets even without internet. One device acts as a Host, downloading all ticket data and creating a local WiFi network. Other devices (Clients) connect to the Host over that local WiFi to check in tickets, no internet required. Once internet is available again, check-ins sync automatically (or manually, your choice).

Set Up the Host Device

1. Open the Eventeny Admin mobile app and log in. From the Events screen, tap the event you want to manage.

3. Tap More in the bottom navigation bar.

4. Under the Check In section, tap Offline check-in.

5. (Recommended) Tap Create PIN to set a Security PIN, which protects your offline check-in settings.

6. Tickets will download automatically (this takes about 3-4 seconds), you'll see a Tickets downloaded count with a refresh icon to pull in any newly purchased tickets. Tap Make this the host device to start a local server.

7. Once active, you'll see:

  • A "Host device active" status with a green dot, letting other devices on this WiFi know they can connect.

  • An Auto sync toggle, turn this on to automatically sync check-ins whenever internet is available, or leave it off to sync manually only.

8. Under More, the Offline check-in row will now show "Host" next to it, so you can easily confirm this device's role.

Connect a Client Device

1. On the second device, go to More → Offline check-in and manually enable the toggle.


2. Select the host network.

3. Enter the email address associated with your Eventeny account to verify access, then tap Find account. The device will show "Waiting for approval" while it requests to connect.

5. On the Host device, go to Connected devices, you'll see the pending request. Tap Approve (or Reject) to let the client device connect.


6. Once approved, the Offline check-in row under More will show "Client" next to it, confirming this device's role.

What to Expect While in Offline Mode

Once a device is connected as a Client, most of the app becomes unavailable, you'll see a "You're in Offline Mode" screen with a note that the page isn't available while connected to a host device, along with a Disconnect from Host button.

The following remain accessible while offline:

  • Event list

  • QR scan / Check In

  • Ticket details screen

Everything else is locked down until you disconnect from the host.

Checking In Tickets Offline

1. From either the Host or an approved Client device, go to Check In and scan attendee QR codes as usual.

2. Checked-in tickets are marked instantly on the device, even with no internet connection. You can also undo a check-in if needed, this is tracked the same way and will sync once you're back online.

Syncing Check-Ins

1. On the Host device's Offline check-in screen, you'll see a Pending sync count showing how many check-ins haven't yet been sent to the server.

2. If Auto sync is on, this happens automatically as soon as internet is available, you'll see a banner: "Internet connection restored."

3. If Auto sync is off, tap Sync X pending check-ins under Actions to manually push the check-ins to the server.

4. Once synced, the Pending sync count returns to 0, confirming all check-ins are up to date on the server.

Important Notes

  • Only one device should be set as the Host at a time per event.

  • Both Host and Client roles are clearly labeled next to Offline check-in under More, so you can always confirm which mode a device is in.

  • If a Client device is unexpectedly disconnected, you'll see a "You were disconnected by the host" message and will need to reconnect.

  • Don't stop Host mode while check-ins are still pending sync, as this could disrupt data from Client devices.

  • We recommend syncing as soon as internet is available to avoid a large backlog of pending check-ins.
